ID Stewardship partnered with bioMérieux in November 2022 for their monthly #ASPchat, an open Twitter forum discussion that focused on the importance of collaboration between laboratorians and other healthcare professionals to enact multidisciplinary approaches to antimicrobial stewardship (AMS). In this article, the featured bioMérieux pharmacists share their key takeaways from that discussion, including how microbiology laboratories can help bring more awareness to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and impact the success of AMS programs, how medical professionals can become more involved in AMS advocacy, and the importance of rapid diagnostics tools and stewardship data for effective patient care.
