FILMARRAY^® Meningoencephalitis Panel in the Diagnosis of Central Nervous System Infections: Stewardship and Cost Analysis in a Paediatric Hospital in Chile

This study, conducted at Roberto del Río Children’s Hospital in Chile, focused on the ongoing concern of central nervous system (CNS) infections in pediatric care. The FILMARRAY^® Meningoencephalitis (FAME) panel, with its enhanced sensitivity in identifying the causes of CNS infections, was evaluated. The objective was to compare the aetiological identification and hospitalization costs in patients with suspected CNS infections before and after the introduction of the FAME panel.
