bioMérieux and Vall d'Hebron Join Forces Against Infectious Diseases
bioMérieux announces a new strategic research partnership with Vall d'Hebron, one of Spain's largest and most prestigious healthcare institutions. This collaboration aims to advance research and development in the areas of infectious diseases, data surveillance, and laboratory automation.
The 4-year partnership, which was signed at the end of 2024, marks a significant milestone in bioMérieux and Vall d’Hebron commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare.
The collaboration will focus on several key areas of mutual interest in microbiology in particular antimicrobial resistance and stewardship including:
- Data Surveillance: Enhancing automated data collection and surveillance systems at the Catalonia level, leveraging Vall d'Hebron's extensive network.
- Laboratory Automation: Developing automated solutions for reading and interpreting microbiology exams.
Additionally, the collaboration could include antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and the evaluation of new diagnostic solutions.
