Outcomes Research & AMR: A Human-Centered Perspective on a Biosocial Problem
SUMMARY
Wrapping up a 3-part series on Outcomes Research and AMR, CIDRAP-ASP explores the complexities of AMR outcomes research through the lens of socioeconomics. They make a case for integration of social sciences, regional diversity/heterogeneity, and systems-based thinking, providing examples and suggestions. Implementing the right tools to report the impact of antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) interventions can be challenging and determining the collective impact of AMS efforts in the context of OneHealth, even more so. CIDRAP-ASP invites researchers to "think about AMR as a biosocial problem in the design of outcomes and cost-effectiveness studies."
