Exploring Diagnostic and Antimicrobial Stewardship Interventions to Optimize Management of Gram-Negative Bacteremia
SUMMARY
In their proof-of-concept study, Dr. Claeys and colleagues compared three rapid diagnostic test panels using the Desirability of Outcome Ranking for Management of Antimicrobial Therapy, or DOOR MAT, to diagnose Gram-negative bloodstream infections. “Through use of DOOR MAT, institutions can better determine which rapid diagnostic tests to implement based on local infectious diseases epidemiology and prescribing patterns.”
